Dear readers! Welcome to the third edition of Sepson News. This is our channel where we inform you about news and happenings at Sepson and the world of winches. If there is anything you want us to write about, please send me an e-mail and we’ll try to make you wishes come true.

Sepson winches are used on rescue and recovery vehicles, cargo trucks, trailers and heavy equipment transporters, armoured fighting vehicles, off road vehicles, tractors, loaders and earthmovers, fire engines, high tension line stringing rigs and many other applications. Despite the financial uncertainties in the world, and especially in Europe, Sepson is going well. In August 90 % of last year’s sales was reached and the orders for 2013 is starting to drop in – Something that we are very thankful and humble for.

Since the last issue we have been in Abu Dhabi and we have introduced the new section of accessories in our website. Since I’m deeply involved in the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise, Sepson is now taking the game. It’s a movement to vitalize Swedish business climate. Please read more about it below.

Hot in Abu Dhabi

We had a fantastic week in Abu Dhabi! Old and new friends visited our stand in IDEX 2013. This year’s International Defense Exhibition and conference was the largest exhibition in the event’s two decade history. We were 1.112 exhibiting companies from 59 countries and the fair had over 80.000 visitors.

IDEX 2013 also witnessed the introduction of the dedicated unmanned systems and helicopter demonstration areas featuring hands-on technology workshops and purpose-built exhibition platforms, as well as the Live Demonstration Area establishing a forum for industry leaders to showcase the latest in defense technology.

First held in 1993, IDEX (International Defense Exhibition & Conference) is the largest joint defense exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. IDEX is the only international defense and maritime security exhibition in the MENA region, demonstrates the latest technology across land, sea and air sectors of defense.

New features on our website – Accessories

Have you visited our new website yet? Now we have added our accessories on the site. Make it a habit to visit us often and make sure not to miss anything in the world of Sepson.

Upgraded paint shop

To ensure that our world class winches also are the best looking, Sepson has upgraded the paint shop with an Aqua Clean Multi Stage cleaning machine. The Aqua Clean machine has a three stage aqueous cleaning and rinsing process followed by a blow off and drying step. The cleaning process is carried out with a rotating spray system with built-in nozzles. The hot cleaning liquid is sprayed from all directions onto the components with a high mechanical effect. The paint shop’s drying room has been more than tripled in size to give space for the growing volume of winches. The new paint shop will enhance the finish on our winches so they become more resistible against the wear and tear to come.

Sepson takes the game!

The Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (Svenskt Näringsliv) is Sweden’s largest and most influential business federation representing 49 member organizations and 60.000 member companies with over 1.6 million employees. It was founded in 2001 through the merger between the Swedish Employers’ Confederation (SAF, founded in 1902) and the Federation of Swedish Industry (SI, founded in 1910). Now they have taken an initiative called “Sweden takes the game”. Sepson is a part in that game. Sweden has year after year proved to be one of the world’s most competitive countries. We have been one of globalization real winner. We have every reason to feel proud. We are talented, but also constantly challenged. We cannot be complacent and we cannot take our prosperity for granted. We want to put the light on that the moment a customer chooses to buy from a company wealth is created. It is the customers, which has many options that determine the conditions for future prosperity. There are companies that take the game in the market that creates wealth.

By showing how small businesses, large companies and entire industries are taking the game to Swedish Enterprise and our member companies for more people to know about, feel about and involved in what gives Sweden force. We want to increase the understanding of corporate crucial role in our prosperity and welfare. Though Swedish people in general understand the link between competitive companies and well-being, we all need to be reminded and reinforced in our view. Fact that our prosperity and well-being is and falls with competitive companies will be a fundamental insight that is shared by all.

Master Smith Sars Erik Petterson – Our founder

The master smith Sars Erik Petterson founded Sepson in 1900 in Dalarna in the middle of Sweden. His main skill was to make tools and handling equipment for the surrounding forestry industry, where pulling and lifting are key activities. The photography shows a load handling system for the Swedish timber industry from the first half of the last century.
